I hear he’s fond of minirets… Wonderful pictures, Mike. I especially love that last one.

    • Michael:

Ah, the minirets! I would love to photograph some of those against a clear, blue sky. I don’t think we have any near here.

  • Love the second one. You know…I often wonder that same thing myself. This morning we had 3 (THREE!) gun shot wounds come in within 10 minutes of each other. That’s 3 in half an hour. Senseless, insane, violence that mankind constantly perpetuates against itself.

The youngest guy (32 years old) didn’t make it. Now a wife, son, mother and other family members are left to grieve something that shouldn’t have ever happened.

The second guy (36) is in surgery with some significant damage to his internal organs….not out of the woods.

The last guy (37) air lifted to a major trauma center.

It’s nights like these that remind me of just how cruel our world is.

    • Michael:

I’m often struck by how little people think about God. For you, working in the ER and seeing the results of so much violence, that realization must come even more often than it does for most of us.

  • Wow! The sky really is blue sometimes.

    God is everywhere.

    Nice photos, Mike!

    • Michael:

Why is the sky blue, though? And don’t tell me about the ocean and reflected light and all that. I live in the southwest. The nearest ocean is…well, it’s a long way away.

  • I love, love, love the Church in Taos…..it’s freakin’ awesome! Okay, how about publishing a calendar? You have got to get your photos compiled in some sort of publishable form. Need a marketing guru? A-hemmmm.

  • Margo has a great idea, Mike. I could look at those photos for a month and not get tired of them. Beautiful composition, and that sky is awesome.

  • And in each is featured a beautiful blue sky…

    • Michael:

Sometimes I’m lucky and get that sky, other times, as with the last shot, I have to wait a year or more.

  • Подскажите, можно ли разместить на своем сайте данный пост?

  • What he (above commentor) said…or maybe not…I need to polish my foreign language skills…

    In the clouds? Just kidding:)

    Awesome pics…

    • Michael:

In the clouds is a good answer, and it may or may not be correct. Thank you for playing, and the management will notify you if you win a prize.

  • Michael:

I felt I had to delete this comment from a Russian spammer because it was for porn. But the translation was: “Good article. Brevity is clearly your sister.”

I don’t know what that means, but I like it.

  • Michael:

Sadly, I also had to delete this spammer’s comment. But I was intrigued by the translation: “Think again, an army of many thousands of your readers will not understand you, do not forgive!”

Wow, that actually frightens me a little.
