Thirty Days of Photographs: Wet

One rainstorm, two very different photographs. I like them both, and couldn’t decide which one was better. Maybe you can do it for me.

  1. I really like the photo with the bench and the fire hydrant. I love the red of the fire hydrant, and the way the bench is reflected in the water. These are wonderful photos, Michael.

    • Well, thank you, Ziva. I guess I like the bench photo best because the bench looks mighty appealing, even wet. Maybe especially wet.

  2. I really love them both. Excellent. If I had to choose, I’d probably take the second photo, but it would be a hard choice. The “red” photo makes the drops look so real I feel like I could touch them. I need to see if I can find a photo of a painting I almost bought. It’s by a Parisian artist and he painted a little red toy truck on a windowsill and rain drops rolling down the window. If I can find it, I’ll send it to you. This photo reminds me of that painting.

  3. I love the first pic. For some reason the second one doesn’t show up for me. Your pic reminds me of that Peter Gabriel LP (that’s “long playing” for the kiddies)cover. I think it was unofficially called “Wet”. Cool, Mike.

  4. I’m not capable of making choices today. I liked them both.

Sigh. I have rain envy. I’m starting to have a hard time spelling rain, much less remember what wet pavement or wet anything looks like.

  5. I love both photos but I have to laugh at the first one: it reminded me of the description of friend of mine would use for that colour of red. Simply, she called it “cocksucker red” and normally associated it with cars or, more appropriately, lipstick. ;-)

    • Some peope are having that problem. If you see a sliver of something on the page, click on it and see what happens.
